Milioni ljudi šriom svijeta bili su primorani da otkažu proslave Božića, a ulice ukrašenih gradova izgledale su prazno.
Snimci i fotografije dokaz su da je ovaj Božič drugačiji od prethodnih, a tome je doprinela pandemija korona virusa.
Za mnoge se izolacija od bližnjih, koja je obilježila gotovo cijelu ovu godinu, produžila i na Badnje veče i Božić pa će vjerovatno tako biti i za Novu godinu, kao i pravoslavni Božić.

Italijanski premijer Đuzepe Konte najavio je novo zaključavanje.
Od sljedeće nedjelje neće biti moguće putovati među regionima, a izlazak će biti dozvoljen jedino u slučaju odlaska u prodavnicu, zbog posla, zdravlja ili iz hitnih razloga.
I Poljska 28. januar uvodi karantinu. Škole, restorani, sportski centri, hoteli, ski i trgovinski centri bie zatvoreni od 28. decembra do 17. januara.
U Španiji su tokom proslave katoličkog Božića crkve ostale otvorene, ali bilo je strogo zabranjeno pjevanje i ljubljenje religijskih ikona.
Ipak, građanima se preporučilo da mise prate od kuće putem televizije ili drugih servisa.
Restorani, hoteli i sportski centri u Češkoj zatvoreni su od 18. decembar, a uvodi se se i policijski čas od 23 sata.
